INTORODUCTION OF NEW INTISTUES IN THE SPHERE OF MEDIATION

 

At the meeting of June 2, 2022, the Armenian Government has proposed a bill on amending the RA Law “On Mediation” and related legal acts. The bill proposes to introduce the following new institutions into the sphere of mediation - online mediation and mandatory mediation in family matters.

 

In particular, it was proposed to introduce online mediation in cases established by law or agreed between the parties. The bill also establishes that mediation is mandatory for cases such as divorce, determination of the child’s place of residence, recovery of alimony (alimony), division of property considered to be the common property of the spouses, the exercise of parental rights, removal of barriers to communication with the child of the child’s close relatives, the establishment of the order of visits with the child, amendment or termination of the marriage contract. Mediation in these cases will be a prerequisite for applying to courts.

 

The bill has received the approval of the RA Government and, shortly, would be included in the agenda of the RA National Assembly.

ADDITIONS TO THE GROUNDS FOR GRANTING RA CITIZENSHIP

 

At a meeting on June 9, 2022, the Armenian Government has proposed a bill on making additions to the RA Law “On Citizenship of the Republic of Armenia”.

 

According to current regulations, the provision of “exceptional services” by a person is a ground for granting an Armenian citizenship within the meaning of this law. However, currently, no legal act establishes which services are considered “exclusive”.

 

The draft proposes to clarify the concept of “exceptional services”, establishing that the criteria for exceptional service will be established by the decision of RA Government.

 

The bill has received the approval of the RA Government and, shortly, would be included in the agenda of the RA National Assembly.

EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION INCLUDED IN CREDIT HISTORIES WITHIN THE EAEU

 

At the meeting on June 9, 2022, the Armenian Government has approved the RA Law “On ratification of the agreement on the procedure for the exchange of information included in credit histories within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union”.

INVALIDITY OF THE TRANSACTION AS A CONSEQUENCE OF VIOLATION OF APPLICABLE REQUIREMENTS FOR NON-CASH TRANSACTIONS

 

At its meeting on June 2, 2022, the Armenian Government has proposed bill on amending the RA Law “On Non -cash Transactions”.

 

As part of the recently introduced legislative changes, after July 1, 2022, a threshold was set for transactions concluded by individual entrepreneurs, notaries, lawyers and organizations one party of which is an individual, and for transactions concluded between individuals. The payments within the transactions exceeding the mentioned threshold should be made in non-cash from.

 

The new additions stipulate that non-compliance with the non-cash payment requirement leads to the invalidity of the transaction (contract). Such a transaction (contract) shall be void.

 

The bill has received the approval of the RA Government and, shortly, would be included in the agenda of the RA National Assembly.

UPCOMING AMENDMENTS TO THE LAW ON GEOGRAPHICAL INDICATIONS

 

At a meeting on May 13, 2022, the RA Government of has proposed bill on amending the RA Law “On Geographical Indications”. The bill stipulates that as a geographical indication, it will be possible to use not only the names of country of origin, place, locality and area, but also any name that determines the quality, reputation or other characteristic features of this product,

 

The bill has received the approval of the RA Government and, shortly, would be included in the agenda of the RA National Assembly.

VISA-FREE REGIME FOR KUWAITI CITIZENS

 

According to the decree of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, from now on, Kuwaiti citizens can enter the territory of the RA without a visa.

THE MEMBER STATES OF THE EURASIAN ECONOMIC UNION WILL MUTUALLY RECOGNIZE DOCUMENTS ON ACADEMIC DEGREES

 

The Government of the Republic of Armenia has approved the signing of the agreement "Օn mutual recognition of documents on academic degrees in the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union". From now on, the EAEU member states will mutually recognize documents on academic degrees issued in the member state։
